I don't know why, but if I do the following, look at the failure. Yours
doesn't fail ?

[aland at eagle ntmp]$ git clone git://github.com/Xilinx/u-boot-xlnx.git
Cloning into 'u-boot-xlnx'...
remote: Reusing existing pack: 252911, done.
remote: Counting objects: 90, done.
remote: Compressing objects: 100% (89/89), done.
error: inflate: data stream error (invalid distance too far back)
fatal: pack has bad object at offset 49397178: inflate returned -3
fatal: index-pack failed

The above also happens with linux-xlnx for me also. I can get both if I use
https, and I got it to work with the for u-boot...

I'm using 13.10 also, not Kubuntu, but I'm running plasma on Ubuntu 13.10. In
fact, all of my machines are running 13.10, except one that is back on
precise, which is 12.04 I think.

[aland at eagle ntmp]$ git --version
git version
[aland at eagle ntmp]$

Yes, I think this is exactly what happened. I didn't checkout the revision.

I would like to know why your git works, which uses ssh over port 22, and I
use 22 all the time.
