This is the sort of thing I'm not keen on applying to stable branches as it may change recipe behaviour. For comparison, the stable branch policy for oe-core is very strict (https://wiki.yoctoproject.

I'll add this to my queue for backporting to morty, may be about a week before I get to it though.

All boot tested, ran a few commands by hand at the console and everything looks good. I don't have a very complex software stack on morty at the minute though.
