it looks like the rootfs are not mounted, any ideas? I would probably start a new thread with a new subject so we get some more eyes on this issue. Also, post what system you are building for. Can you try mounting the ext2 rfs in loopback mode on your build machine and seeing how much free space is left? -M

Fullpass Test Report for Yocto 1.1 M4 RC2 20110914 Build
Xu, Jiajun <jiajun.xu@...>
Hi All, This is the fullpass test report for Yocto 1.1 M4 RC2 build. There are 7 new bugs found in this testing. Sugarbay testing is blocked due to sato-sdk image not copied to sharing folder on autobuilder. Most multilib function could not work. non-GPLv3 build reports error when building core-image-basic. Basic functions of hob work well, except for the issues that 2nd build could not work after force stop 1st build and non-GPLv3 de-selection not work issue. x32 build could not work, meanwhile Nitin has fixed the issue in latest commit. Xorg eats lots of CPU’s resource issue still exists on crownbay. Both Crashme/Helltest testing on Jasperforest and LTP testing on Beagleboard could pass 24 hours stress testing. Note: for different image they are against different commit/branch information, you can refer to ‘Commit Information’ section for detail information. Hi Chris, The VM has 1GB memory. Normally 400-500MB is consumed on Ubuntu ,so I think it is enough. Does redhat-based linux need more memory? Because I had closed terminal running poky, all process of poky should quit. 发件人: Chris Tapp [mailto:opensource@...] 发送时间: 2011年9月22日 18:02 收件人: 蔡振军 抄送: yocto@... 主题: Re: [yocto] poky consume all memory on redhat-based linux in virtualbox

I've seen the build process peak at something like 2.5GB. I started running with a VM that only had 1GB allocated and had the same problem as this caused lots of swap file activity. It was mainly the compiler/linker that was using most of the memory, which would explain why you see 'cc1'. Don't forget that the build process fires off multiple processes.

[1] http://bugzilla.pokylinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1096 So thanks to Jiajun we now have a wiki page to track tested host distros:
https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/Distribution_Support
If you're successfully building Yocto on a host distro that's not currently listed, could you reply here with the information we're collecting on that page (or if you prefer, add it to the wiki page yourself)?
Many thanks, Paul
I'm building on an ArchLinux 64bit host here. Can't remember the exact packages that were required to install but I retrieved them all easily from offical and possibly one from an unofficial repository. One thing to note though is that I could only have Python2 installed and I had to symlink it to python, as ArchLinux has Python3 linked to python by default. Regards, Jack.

Please pull into linux-yocto-3.0/yocto/standard/emenlow-3.0. merged and tracked for future updates. There's no SRCREVs for me to update for this one, so you can take care of the meta-intel layer SRCREV bump. what can I do? How about substitute the "inherit image_types" by "inherit image_types_uboot" in "image.bbclass"? You can add: INHERIT += "image_types_uboot" to your local.conf to enable these types. At some point it would be good if we do this by default. -M

Re: why the version of "linux-libc-headers-yocto_git" stay on 2.6.37 ?
OK, I got it.
