My host is Ubuntu 20.04, and I'm using yocto/poky gatesgarth as base. Target core-image-minimal builds without issue, only meta-toolchain fails. Normally I can get a good idea why something is failing from the logs, but this time I'm really left clueless. Any help would be appreciated. BR, Miguel

RP: there are explicit “sync” calls in the test framework, but there are too many, and this adds enormous I/O load which can affect issues when the test itself does I/O work JPEW: running diffoscope on all the output was really slow, if we can pre-check the directories and prune them out before, it can speed it up Ross: i tried diffoscope a while back and gave up after 5 hours JPEW: what version? Ross: really old JPEW: lots of improvements, lots and lots, so just pip install the latest and it should help RP: found performance issues and upstream happily accepted them JPEW: if there are 1000’s of files that are different it will just give up after a while RP: i was able to get diffocope to give some good results before it gave up and that was helpful. sometimes it is able to complete, but then the resulting HTML is huge. it takes a _long_ time for my browser to load :-/ RP: the good news is the AB is producing output in a timely manner RP: we’re in feature freeze for 3.3, lots of stuff in master-next that i don’t know what to do with RP: rust isn’t in yet Randy: still working on the bugs (a dnf issue) Scott: if it doesn’t get in, does it block us on python3-cryptography? Randy: yes RP: i don’t feel like it’s ready yet. things have been rushed in in the past with not-so-great results, i think we’ll step back on this one and wait for it to be more stable, more tested. it should definitely get in for the next cycle but i’m leaning towards not doing it for this release (various): agreement on waiting Randy: there’s an issue with the SDK related to dynamic linking, and automating the rust compiler test cases RP: are there any other things that need to go into 3.3? ross: debugd? right, the change seems to be happening in task checksums and that happens if some of bitbake variables change when SDK is built built and when it is being installed ( when it will run parse again ) perhaps the workspace under the hood is still accessible and you can use bitbake-diffsigs to narrow it down the variable that is changing

I build the my kernel image clean and the eSDK image right after, cache should be good, no ? Not sure how to go about resolving... it occurs on the back end of the eSDK installation. I can actually go to the install and build the kernel image under the umbrella of the eSDK and it builds/runs correctly...

I still appear to be having an issue with the SXT SDK install…
Building for zeus/x86_64 Intel based platform… I build my kernel image clean, fully functional… Standard SDK builds clean and appears functional…
Ext SDK builds clean, but on install I am still seeing Error below…
(1) What is it comparing between unhash/task hash ?, more sig issues ?
(2) What is meant by “This is usually due to missing setscene tasks” ?
(3) In the local.conf under the SDK they set :
SSTATE_MIRRORS += " file://universal/(.*) file://universal-4.9/\1 file://universal-4.9/(.*) file://universal-4.8/\1"
Under sdk-extra.conf I set :
SSTATE_MIRRORS += file://.* file:///ede/tms/yocto/zeus/sstate_cache/PATH
My SSTATE_MIRRIOR is based off the clean builds I mentioned above, is this the correct procedure ?
I am trying to figure out how best to debug this issue, it is occurring on the post install, and everything pretty much appears in place.
