Re: build failure on crownbay with EMGD
Yeah, in general, if you change a package, you need to update the PR so
it gets rebuilt.
It's described here:
http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.1/poky-ref-manual/poky-ref-manual.html
3.4.3.

Yes, it's something I've been trying to get to for awhile now, and
really hope to very soon...

There were several round of doing just that not too long ago, but all
stumbled on the license bits e.g.

You should bump the PR of emgd-driver-bin_1.8.bb to get it to use the
new contents i.e.
change
PR = "r7"
to
PR = "r8"

Sounds like a generic buildbot change to use rev-parse --short in a few places?

I'm glad others are using it. I have my chumby set up to poll the rss
feed @ home.
Sure, I'll see if I can squish it down.

Re: New ways of keeping up with the status of the build.
Nice. Added to my feed, with a filter on "failed". The subjects are
really long and difficult to parse. Could these be massaged a bit? Just
dropping 75% of the commit hash would help a lot :)

Yes, you've hit the missing step added to the update release notes here:

This is a documentation problem - for 1.1 there are no -directdisk or -live
images; instead this is done by adding "live" to IMAGE_FSTYPES which is done
automatically if MACHINE is set to atom-pc,
