"Name or service not known" - that suggests a DNS failure - are you sure you
don't have local network issues?

You should either find a mirror again or wait if the problem solves
itself. Unfortunately I don't know, which git repository this recipe

It looks like meta-kde on gitorious is currently down. Manually cloning its mirror on github in sources directory worked for me.

Yes you can and I have. Search the pi forum for my posts there, last time I tried a yocto build for the b+ it pulled in the old pi firmware which doesn't work on the b+. Per my notes on the pi forum

FWIW, I own a rpi b+ that I use to automate things in my house and it
works just fine. I'm not aware of any specifics... Just get the
meta-raspberrypi layer from [1] and follow the instructions in
