I have gotten much closer with Yocto-check-layer, down to the same error for both layers, all other tests passing…

Can someone explain what the error means, and what might be causing it  ?

Meta-intel-bsp now showing:

AssertionError: Adding layer meta-intel-bsp changed signatures.

Meta-intel-distro now showing:

It looks like this packagegroup has a RDEPENDS on "shim" while the code
can't find the recipe. If that RDEPENDS is correct, this layer probably
needs to add a LAYERDEPENDS on a layer that has this recipe in
layer.conf.

Re: curl certificate error

Mauro Ziliani

Thank you.

I have included the dependencies, but curl miss the CAfile.

I have to fix the right full path by CURL_CA_BUNDLE in the recipe which uses curl-native

I have changed TMP variabile in conf/local.conf

Now TMP:=mytmp  (the default value was tmp)

curl looks for CAFile in

/home/mauro/yocto/krogoth/bin/tmp/sysroot/x86_64/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt

while the file i in

/home/mauro/yocto/krogoth/bin/mytmp/sysroot/x86_64/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt

In the recipe I put

CURL_CA_BUNDLE=${STAGING_DIR_NATIVE}/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt

export CURL_CA_BUNDLE

Now curl works fine

Thanks again

Error during do_image_wic

Darcy Watkins

Hi,

I have a puzzling error during do_image_wic.  It says a ‘1’ is returned as an error rather than 0, but I don’t see in the output what went wrong.  Anyone recognize it?  (I am not that familiar with the inner workings of the wic image generation tool).

This used to work but broke during a fresh build from scratch.

The wic image for SD card follows similar style pattern as has been used by Freescale Community BSP for the i.MX6 family, etc. and has previously worked and the SD card booted.

How do I get the install grub option into the image?
You can build the hddimg image by changing IMAGE_FSTYPES to live which
has the boot and install option. I think it used to be live until zeus.

If you want to use that init-install-efi script with wic, these steps
might help:

Next Team Meetings:

Key Status/Updates:

  • We’ve merged a number of key upgrades to glibc, binutils and autoconf in particular which has caused some issues in other layers. Thanks to everyone helping work through those issues.
  • We’ve upgraded uninative, with a final 2.32 version containing an upstream fix and then a version with 2.33. There are early reports there may be a build issue with kernels and 2.33.
  • Intermittent autobuilder issues continue to occur. You can see the list of failures we’re continuing to see by searching for the “AB-INT” tag in bugzilla: https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=AB-INT
  • There are some interesting insights from the SWAT status reports that are now being generated, in particular they show the frequency that some bugs are occurring which should help us try and target the most problematic failures:

Image installation problems after an upgrade to gatesgarth

Ori Pessach

Hi,

I have an image that was building and working fine with an older release of Poky. The target system is genericx86-64, and I'm trying to create a boot USB drive that installs the system on the PC it boots on.

Like I said, this was working fine before.

With gatesgarth, I'm only getting the "boot" option in grub. I have a grub-bootconf bbappend file that sets LABELS to "install" (the only option I want) and a couple of bbappend files modifying the init-install-efi.sh file in initrdscripts. I can see that the grub.cfg file generated during the build is correct (under tmp/work/genericx86_64-poky-linux/grub-bootconf/1.00-r0/image/boot/EFI/BOOT/grub.cfg) and yet, the wic image only has the boot option.

How do I get the install grub option into the image?

The image is based on core-image-sato.

Thanks,

Ori Pessach

configure: error: gobject-introspection-1.0 is not installed #yocto #rocko

svc985@...

Hello,

I have been trying for a few days now to build yocto 2.4.3 with x11 support with core-image-x11 image, but having difficulties with atk library. I have installed both gobject-introspection and  libgirepository1.0-dev (host system is Ubuntu 18.04), but I still get configure: error: gobject-introspection-1.0 is not installed when trying to build core-image-x11. Can someone advise how to fix this?

Thanks.

Port toolchain source 4.9.3 to Rocko yocto

amaya jindal

Hi,

I want to port old version of toolchain ie gcc 4.9.3 to Rocko version of yocto. I am getting errors in libgcc-initial. Please suggest any one has performed the same. Rocko has currently 5.4 gcc version that we don't want to use  currently. Please suggest.

Re: Install systemd unit file into image from source?

Sean McKay

SYSTEMD_SERVICE_${PN} should just be set to the service name, not the full path. So…
SYSTEMD_SERVICE_${PN} = "testapp-extra@.service"

Also, consider using ${systemd_system_unitdir} instead of ${systemd_unitdir}/system

Cheers!

Subject: [yocto] Install systemd unit file into image from source?

I've got an application that I'd like to install into my custom image and that application has a couple of associated systemd unit files that should be installed as well. The application itself is a very simple cmake project. The relevant bits of the recipe file look something like this:

```
<standard variables go here>
SRC_URI = "<git address goes here>"
S = "${WORKDIR}/git"
inherit systemd
SYSTEMD_AUTO_ENABLE = "enable"
# the service files are stored in the git repository in the misc folder
SYSTEMD_SERVICE_${PN} = "${S}/misc/testapp@.service ${S}/misc/testapp-extra@.service"
do_install_append() {
    install -d ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system
    install -m 0644 ${S}/misc/testapp@.service ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system/
    install -m 0644 ${S}/misc/testapp-extra@.service ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system/
}
inherit cmake
```

When i try to do do `bitbake testapp` to try out the recipe, I get an error telling me that: SYSTEMD_SERVICE_testapp value /projects/poky/build/tmp/work/core2-64-poky-linux/testapp/0.1-r0/git/misc/testapp@.service does not exist.

I'm using yocto 3.2.1 if that matters.

Install systemd unit file into image from source?

Paul Wicks

I've got an application that I'd like to install into my custom image and that application has a couple of associated systemd unit files that should be installed as well. The application itself is a very simple cmake project. The relevant bits of the recipe file look something like this:

```
<standard variables go here>
SRC_URI = "<git address goes here>"
S = "${WORKDIR}/git"
inherit systemd
SYSTEMD_AUTO_ENABLE = "enable"
# the service files are stored in the git repository in the misc folder
SYSTEMD_SERVICE_${PN} = "${S}/misc/testapp@.service ${S}/misc/testapp-extra@.service"
do_install_append() {
    install -d ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system
    install -m 0644 ${S}/misc/testapp@.service ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system/
    install -m 0644 ${S}/misc/testapp-extra@.service ${D}${systemd_unitdir}/system/
}
inherit cmake
```
