------------- Known Issues - ------------- * The poky distribution configuration (DISTRO = "poky") enables ptests by default to enable runtime testing of various components. In this release, a dependency needed to be added that has resulted in a significant increase in the number of components that will be built just when building a simple image such as core-image-minimal. If you do not need runtime tests enabled for core components, then it is recommended that you remove "ptest" from DISTRO_FEATURES to save a significant amount of build time e.g. by adding the following in your configuration: DISTRO_FEATURES_remove = "ptest" * With multilib enabled, INCOMPATIBLE_LICENSE does not work correctly. This issue has apparently been present for some time, and a fix is in progress. For further details see bug 13865: https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13865 - ---------------- Recipe Licenses - ---------------- The following corrections have been made to the LICENSE values set by recipes: * base-passwd: GPLv2+ -> GPLv2 * cairo: all components other than cairo-perf-utils are dual-licensed i.e. a choice of MPL-1.1 or LGPLv2.1 (instead of both applying) * cmake: clarify BSD -> BSD-3-Clause * file: clarify BSD -> BSD-2-Clause * flex: clarify BSD -> BSD-2-Clause * libarchive: clarify BSD -> BSD-2-Clause * libksba: the tools (e.g. build system, tests) & manual are licensed as GPLv3+, and the library itself is a choice between GPLv2+ or LGPLv3+. * libogg: clarify BSD -> BSD-3-Clause * libpcap: clarify BSD -> BSD-3-Clause * libpcre: clarify BSD -> Re: Mailing list platform change November 21st
Michael Halstead
The migration is complete. Please update your address books to point to the new list e-mail addresses. There are rewrites in place so the previous mailing list addresses will continue to work for a limited time. I am sending this message to the old addresses to test that functionality. In the next few days we will have redirects for the old pipermail archives to keep links working. We are also in the process of setting up https://public-inbox.org/README.html for users who would like to retrieve list mail using git. Lists and archives are currently accessible via the links at https://www.yoctoproject.org/community/mailing-lists/. If you are currently a member of any list your account is already created. Visit https://lists.yoctoproject.org/sendloginlink and enter the e-mail you receive list mail at to receive a login link and set a password. If you have questions please visit https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=GroupsMigration to see if they have been answered. E-mail pointofcontact@... with new questions. -- Michael Halstead Linux Foundation / Yocto Project Systems Operations Engineer

Mailing list platform change November 21st
Michael Halstead
After backing out of the first attempt to migrate we are again moving
our lists from Mailman to Groups.io. E-mail to lists will be delayed during the move window on November 21st between 17:00 and 23:00 UTC. A new account will be created for you on the Groups.io platform and most users will only need to update their list mailing address from the @yoctoproject.org to @lists.yoctoproject.org. Moderators please attend to all pending requests next Wednesday November 20th. Please read more about the change on the wiki: https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=GroupsMigration If there are serious issues we will rollback the changes. We will e-mail all lists when work is complete. -- Michael Halstead Linux Foundation / Yocto Project Systems Operations Engineer

------------ Known Issues - ------------ *Bug 13594: mpc8315e-rdb: the stap oeqa test causes OOM. This issue is on a platform with minimal support and works outside the framework. https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13594 *Bug 13595: strace ptest failed . strace issue is two individual test regressions which is an improvement on the test timeouts we had previously. https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13595 *The build/hash equivalency code is considered to be at beta testing level. When used in large scale deployment like the project autobuilder some task migration issues have been noticed. Work is ongoing to debug and address those issues. Individual developer testing seems to be stable. - --------------- Recipe Licenses - --------------- The following corrections have been made to the LICENSE values set by recipes: * cairo: MPL-1 -> When used in large scale deployment like the project autobuilder some task migration issues have been noticed. Work is ongoing to debug and address those issues. Individual developer testing seems to be stable. - --------------- Recipe Licenses - --------------- The following corrections have been made to the LICENSE values set by recipes: * cairo: MPL-1 -> Mailing list update September 15th - platform change delayed
Michael Halstead
This Sunday I will take the Mailman mailing lists offline for updates in
preparation for the platform change. As part of the update I plan to change the list addresses to their new dedicated domain @lists.yoctoproject.org so we can start changing addresses in the MAINTAINERS files and elsewhere. Moderators, thanks for helping by clearing out the queues in advance. If you have outstanding moderation or trouble clearing your queue please reach out to me. I will send a follow up e-mail with a new time line for the platform change after these updates are in place. -- Michael Halstead Linux Foundation / Yocto Project Systems Operations Engineer
