That reminds me that the libsecomp pkg should move to meta-oe so this
other layers don't have to do these kinds of things.
there are also nagios recipes depending on meta-webserver which is
listed in LAYERRECOMMENDS_virtualization-layer but it would be better to
skip them like this when meta-webserver isn't included as well.

[PATCH] libvirt: uprev v6.3 -> v7.2

Xu, Yanfei

From: Yanfei Xu <yanfei.xu@...>

This upgrade spans 9 small release. The detailed realese logs could
refer to: https://gitlab.com/libvirt/libvirt/-/blob/master/NEWS.rst

Libvirt's buildsystem has changed to meson, So this upgrade drop some
obsolete patches applied to makefile.

Due to libvirt's meson currently doesn't support to explicit the runtime
binaries path. I made a patch which is
0001-meson-add-options-to-explicit-binaries-path.patch for solving the
problem.

-Subject: [PATCH] libvirt: use pkg-config to locate libcap
-
-libvirt wants to use pcap-config to locate the exisence and location
-of libpcap. oe-core stubs this script and replaces it with pkg-config,
-which can lead to the host pcap-config triggering and either breaking
-the build or introducing host contamination.
-
-To fix this issue, we patch configure to use 'pkg-config libcap' to
-locate the correct libraries.

Re: [PATCH] boto3: satisfy runtime dependencies

Bruce Ashfield

Thanks for the change.

This is now merged (and I appreciate the submission here, since it is nice
to keep the dependency close to what is using it .. until it becomes more
common and then we can move it if required).

Re: [PATCH] runc-docker: adjust patch to fit latest version

Adjust patch to fit the latest version.
This is the wrong fix (and the commit log is wrong).

I unified runc-docker and runc-opencontainers upstream repositories a
while ago, since there are no longer docker specifics in a runc
variant.

I will delete the runc-docker recipe soon, but have been waiting on
that a bit longer.

When I bumped runc last week, I forgot to bump the second variant as
well. I've now done that, and the patch issues are gone.

This is fantastic news, Bruce!

I'm cleaning up changes, and will push a fully updated k3s to

I always run the k3s master on one device and the k3s agents on other
machines (and thought that was how it is supposed to work).

bravo kube-edge next, or starlingx simplex aio ---- meta-stx

which combines k8s and openstack into a single platform

which i thought would be the ultimate goal for OverC :)

And another followup.

I still haven't forgotten about this, I'm still just tied up with
factoring the code, fighting with k3s and now the holidays. I expect
to get back to this in the next little while.
FYI: I finally got through uprevs and getting k3s to work, so this is
my next detailed integration point.

If you happen to have updates or any newer versions of this, now is a
good time to share them, before I start digging in.

Cheers,

Bruce

about unifying the moby build portion of the effort.

As explained in [1], I have created the balena-engine recipe which could be
used in "regular" Yocto/OE builds (outside of the balenaOS). The
recipe is mostly a copy of the original recipe from meta-balena,
stripped from the balenaOS-specific parts so it can be compiled and
build outside of it. This recipe was tested at build and runtime
on the dunfell release on two targets: RPi4 and qemux86-64.

Changes since v1:
* drop oe-meta-go removes
* use variables instead of hardcoding in case of some paths
* add support for sysvinit
- based on docker.init and confirmed with original balena-engine init [1]
- not verified in practice
* conditionally install init files based on used init system
* use goarch bbclass
* use BUILD_TAGS as a BitBake variable
* drop mobynit compilation
* drop extra balena- symlinks
* drop native bbclass support
* reorganize file structure to be more similar to current docker recipes

Did you do this on the same device?
I always run the k3s master on one device and the k3s agents on other
machines (and thought that was how it is supposed to work).
FYI: after literally 5 months of on and off (most off) debugging and
integration, I have finally gotten to the bottom of this, and now can
bring up my all in one node out of the box!

I can now pull k3s into lots of little bits and am confident that I
can support it, given my recent findings and debug.

I'm cleaning up changes, and will push a fully updated k3s to
meta-virt master in the coming week.

Cheers,

Bruce

Sorry Bruce! Now I saw there is a similar patch sent on mailing list. Please ignore this one.
Still... I don't see the other patch merged upstream on master.
No worries! It definitely showed that people are in fact using the old
branches regularly :D

And I have this error on dunfell and thud branches too. Can you backport this change untill thud?
I just pushed master/gatesgarth/dunfell, and can also do some
cherry-picks to the older branches now.

Bruce

Thanks!
